Contemplating My Re-Collection.
Are Electric Light Orchestra the coolest 'uncool' band ever? It's a question that deserves a moments pause and a ponder, their legacy is at stake. I think listening to E.L.O. is the equivalent of having sex with the family dog, either way you'd be distraught if someone walked in on you... On that subject, what on Earth would you say? "My pants fell down and I tripped into that open bottle of peanut butter, the rest is history." Devastating. If I had a dollar for all the times I started talking about 70s art rock only to end up discussing beastiality I'd be a wealthy, friendless man. Then again who needs friends when you've got money and a stack of dog porn.
Slow day today, perfect scheming weather, about the only perfect weather I've seen thus far today actually. What's with these sudden apocalyptic weather systems lately. I watched The Day After Tomorrow again this morning and I didn't appreciate the dark clouds...or the film for that matter. I've been noticing that I'm not enjoying those disaster films as much as I used to... I've always seen myself as a blossoming flower, guess I've germinated to the stage where I appreciate Roland Emmerich less and less... I hope that doesn't stretch to Michael Bay, couldn't bide that.
Back to my scheming, I've decided I'm going to sell off my DVD collection on eBay. My early estimate is that I should earn somewhere in the vicinity of $3000 - $3500. I think that in order for digital media distribution to prosper it needs more collector's like me to focus solely on the online arena. I'm going to have a monogamous relationship with the net. Plus for a collector like me the only thing better than enjoying your collection is the prospect of starting all over again, bliss! As an added bonus I get to type all the DVDs up into a table, I actually get excited over typing things into a detailed table and yet no one's leaping at the opportunity to hire me for data entry work, it sure is a crazy world.
It does raise the question of what to do with all the free space, if your computer houses all your music, TV shows, movies and books won't the room looks a bit empty? 'Spose I could start becoming more interest in art. Might buy one of Carmen's paintings, hmm might wait until she does some more for the next exhibit.
On the topic of rooms it seems I'm finally going to get one. I don't mind where I am now but there are moments when I can't ignore that it's a simply a hallway that's been partitioned off. At one end it's a glass door that opens into the garage, at the other a room divider my only privacy. I've been increasingly aggravated when people walk past, to me when someone looks in uninvited it's the equivalent of peering through the keyhole... But because Mum and Dad had to take out a new loan to get my Nanna into a new apartment, they took a bit extra so they could construct a new room, not where I am right now, but next to the other room. That should ease some tension.
I just watched the first episode of 'Castle' and I'm not drawn in so far, but I'm going to give it a chance because of my everlasting respect for Nathan Fillion, Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly, who plays the main character. It has been picked up for a second season so it can't be all bad. But I wasn't intrigued by any of the characters so far and the first episode lacked suspense, kind of important for a show about solving crimes. My parents say it is the best thing they've seen this year so that's good enough testimony for me to keep going.
Better go off and enjoy what's left of my Sunday, what to do, what to do. I know, DVDs and pizza, life's a bitch! Welcome back Tamara, see you soon.
